Introduction

DEKC was commissioned to reconstruct the complete hull form from the available historical drawings. The hull geometry was carefully faired and converted into a complete digital hull-form database, creating an accurate foundation for the engineering of the new hull. Based on this digital model, we developed the complete shell plate engineering, providing the precise plate developments and production information required for cutting and cold forming. The project demanded a high level of accuracy to ensure the original hull shape could be reproduced while meeting modern production standards.

The shell plate engineering was delivered in stages to support the construction sequence. Production information for the aft ship was completed first, followed by the shell plates for the fore ship in the next phase of the project. The project demonstrates DEKC’s expertise in hull-form development, fairing and shell plate engineering, combining traditional shipbuilding knowledge with advanced digital engineering to transform complex curved hull shapes into practical production information.
