Our history

More than 50 years of maritime engineering
Built on experience, driven by the future.

For more than five decades, DEKC Maritime has evolved at the heart of the maritime industry. What started as a production engineering department has grown into an independent design and engineering company delivering innovative and practical solutions across the global maritime sector.

1972 – 1982Behaviour

DEKC's roots date back to 1972 as the engineering department of Centraalstaal. During this period, the focus was on production engineering, supporting the shipyards that formed the heart of the Northern Netherlands' shipbuilding industry.

1982 – 2017Growing as an independent engineering company

On 19 April 1982, the engineering department became an independent company. Operating under several well-known names, the organization expanded its expertise from production engineering to the design and engineering of complete vessels, onboard systems and superyacht projects.

Since 2017DEKC Maritime

The launch of the DEKC Maritime brand in July 2017 marked the beginning of a new chapter. Today, DEKC serves a broad range of maritime markets, including offshore, dredging and complex vessel conversions, while continuing to build on more than five decades of engineering expertise.
